TREASURES ANTIQUES Barn Stars & Tinware Barn Stars are a symbol of Good Luck and date back to the 1830's |
||
| Barn Star History Barn stars date back to the 1830's in Pennsylvania and were thought to be a sign of good fortune and luck to many farmers, particularly the German. They were painted directly onto the barns and were later built onto the barn itself. Then, crafter's began to make them separate from the barn by making them from wood. Today they are made of steel and have become popular for interior and exterior decorating. As a main focal point or in a grouping, these barn stars are sure to add an old fashioned country warmth to your home. They'll know you have a great sense of style when you hang one of these metal stars above your mantel, on a large wall or on the side of your house. Whether it's contemporary decor, country decor or primitive decor, this star is a must have to complete your look. |
